Saturday night, after a full day of baby shower setup and cleanup, and Collin helping a woman in the ward move, we decided we needed to celebrate our 6th/7th month of marriage by having a date night. We decided to eat at The Melting Pot despite the priciness, which was just opened a month or so ago at the shopping center across the street from our apartment.

We went ahead and ordered the four course meal for two, which included a cheese fondue, salad, 5 different types of meat with dipping sauces, and a chocolate dessert fondue. We also ordered a virgin strawberry dacquiri, that was just as good, if not better, than the ones we had in Jamaica.

The atmosphere was exquisitly contemporary and modern. The tables were snug booths with low lighting, and soft music. The restaurant wasn't loud and the service was excellent. Overall, it was an extremely enjoyable and delicious meal. We had no idea how long we had spent there until we got back to our car. We were there for about 2 1/2 hours.

Our favorite was the dessert fondue (OF COURSE) and we'll definately be going back. We got the original (milk chocolate swirled with chunky peanut butter) with pieces of brownie, cheesecake, pound cake, strawberries, bananas, pineapple, and marshmallows to dip in the fondue. Go to their website and check out their menu. There's only one in Alabama.

I never got around to finishing up the Ohio trip. Let's just say, big roller coasters=big fun. The fireworks over the river were extraordinary, and it was the best 4th of July I've ever had!

Oh that sounds sooo good!! I think I've heard of one of those restaurants in Atlanta, but I didn't know they opened one up in Birmingham. We're going down to B'ham this weekend... maybe I can talk Jared into going. Just how pricey are we talking?
